Florida, Oddly Enough
The last week of school is here. The rainy season is also finally here, but not in time to save the myriad fish in the creek, who provided a banquet for many waterfowl, and later, vultures. A trip to Naples for dinner was lovely. It rained while we ate, but we were tucked under the awning and didn’t get wet. The slowed down pace is back here, too. The snowbirds finally flapped their way back north.
I bought new puzzles for the classroom. We will start our mornings with different types of puzzles; this week will be very low key. Getting around to things we need to brush up on, taking virtual field trips, doing crafts, writing 2nd grade memoirs.
I really can’t complain. Now that licensure requirements have been met, I can really enjoy my students and the 5 days we have left as a group. It’s been a satisfying year. Several kids improved by more than 100% in reading. One, over 200% and two 165%. I am pleased.
